A Journey of Faith

Human beings live not on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.   - Matthew 4:4

The Bible...a book of faith, written by a people of faith, to a community of faith.

We approach our scripture study with the following in mind:

  • To whom was the author writing?
  • What did he say to them?
  • What is he saying to us today?

An emphasis is placed on trying to understand the cultural and geographical background of the people of the Bible. Our goal is to deepen our knowledge and relationship with God and to gain a familiarity with the Word of God.

This year, we will be studying a series of reflections on St. Paul - his inner life, goals, ambitions and his zeal for the Gospel of Christ. This 8-10 week tract will be based on the new book, ”Rabbi Paul” by Bruce Chilton (Doubleday). The book presents a fresh perspective of Paul that is both compelling and enlightening. It has been said that St. Paul has done more to shape Christianity as we know it, than any other person.

The group meets on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., in the church, beginning with prayer and song. No prior background in the Bible is necessary. Please check the weekly bulletin for the exact schedule.
