A Message from Deacon Paul When Brenda Dowdell, our WebMaster, suggested doing a web site for the parish, I felt that this was certainly an idea whose time had come. In numerous messages, the Holy Father has urged the church to use the power and resources of technology for the spreading of the Gospel. I find it to be an intriguing concept that we are using cutting edge technology to convey a message that is thousands of years old. With God there is no time. In the book of Revelation, Jesus proclaims, I am the beginning and the end. He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. "May our internet presence be a reminder of the ever present Jesus who has caught us into His net'." - Deacon Paul |

| Deacon Paul began his ministry in 1971 as a music minister for Christ the King Parish in Kingston, RI. In 1978 Paul moved to Miami, Florida, with his wife, Katherine, to accept a position as music director. While in Miami, under the influence of his mentor, Fr. David Russell, Paul began expanding his ministry of music by accepting speaking/preaching engagements around the area. Eventually Paul's parish in Miami, St. Louis Church, commissioned Paul to take his gifts "on the road." Paul began travelling around the country singing and preaching to various churches. Paul was ordained to the permanent Diaconate for the Archdiocese of Miami in 1987. Paul has recorded four albums of Christian music and taped a television series for Mother Angelica's EWTN television network, entitled "Words and Music." Thirteen years ago, at the request of Fr. Ray, Paul and his family returned to New England and moved to Cumberland to be of service to the people St. John Vianney Parish and the Diocese of Providence. Paul and Katherine have three children.
