A
Message from Father Ray
If
you were to examine a photograph with a magnifying glass, a microscope,
or zoom in on it within a computer application for photography
manipulation, it would simply appear to be a lot of dots of color.
Only when we step back and focus on the whole of the photograph
do we discover the masterpiece that it is. In the same way, much
of our lives can be understood by looking back from where we are
today. That seeming hodgepodge of decisions made along the way
begins to assume a pattern only as we cast our eyes from where
we are now, back to our beginnings.

| Our
parish has existed for over forty years. If one were to examine
one year it might seem just a normal, routine year with its rhythms
and events and celebrations. But when we step back and look at the
forty plus years, we become aware of the pattern our parish has
taken. Like its patron saint, St. John Vianney, this parish community
has made it possible in so many ways over the years, for people
to find the Lord in their lives, especially through the Sacraments
of the Eucharist and Reconciliation. And we have all played a part
in this picture.
We might imagine ourselves as just dots of color - some black, some
white, some brown, some red, some yellow - but our individual dots
make up the beautiful masterpiece that is St. John Vianney parish.
May the Lord, who is the Master Painter, continue to renew us and
use each one of us to present to the whole world the Portrait of
Jesus, Himself.
