The Way of the Cross

From the menu on the left, you can select from two different "Ways" of the Cross, as well as music to accompany you as journey through the stations:
  • Traditional - with prayers adapted from a traditional Latin compilation of liturgical and Biblical texts
  • Song of the Sorrowful Mother
(Music: Stabat Mater - Mainz Gesangbuch)
  • Via Crucis - Stations of the Cross in Jerasulam

The Stations of the Cross you see in this site are photos*of the Stations in St. John Vianney Church. The Stations were removed from the "old" St. John Vianney Church and stripped of the paint that originally covered them. Stain and gold leaf were applied to the wood carvings to enhance the natural beauty of the Stations; they were then mounted on limestone slabs - a fitting complement to the contemporary design of the "new" church.

You can listen to the music for "Song of the Sorrowful Mother," tor "Stabat Mater," while viewing the Stations, by clicking on the G-Clef in the menu at the left.

Visit the Stations of the Cross in Jerusalem, and view numerous photographs depicting the actual road followed by Jesus on the day of his death.
