NOTICES & EVENTS
Adoration Chapel Update
When the Blessed Sacrament is exposed it may never be left unattended. It has come to our attention that there are hours when it is. As a result, we must keep the outside doors locked at all times. Visitors are welcomed.

More Coming Soon
We are working to develop new opportunities for you coming soon.

Pope Francis has called for a universal synod of the church, convening bishops from around the world.
In preparation for this event, he has asked every diocese across the world to involve as many people as possible, Catholic, other Christians and non-Christians, during the “listening phase” in responding to a survey and attending regional listening sessions.
We encourage you to do so by filling out the survey and attending one of the regional meetings. If you have any questions, you may contact the diocesan synod committee at faithformation@dioceseofprovidence.org or 401-278-4646.

St. John the Baptist Mary Vianney is a welcoming and vibrant environment that offers spiritual, social and youthful opportunities to her parishioners. Beginning September 8, 2021 and lasting until June, 26, 2022, the Diocese of Providence will host an ongoing celebration of the sesquicentennial of its founding in February, 1872. The central theme of the celebration - embossed on the anniversary logo beneath the welcoming outstretched arms of Christ - is rooted in the sacred scripture of Psalm 126: “The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.”
Our diocesan celebration will begin on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady, with "A Night to Honor Mary" at 6 p.m. in the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul, and will continue through Sunday, June 26, 2022, when the commemoration of the 150th anniversary will conclude with a solemn closing Mass at the cathedral at 1 p.m. That Sunday is the closest to the patronal feast day of SS. Peter and Paul.
