Youth Ministry seeks to cultivate the gifts and talents of young people in our parish in a supportive environment by instilling a Gospel-centered, challenging and world-shaping vision for our youth.

Through both our Adult Youth Ministry Committee and Youth Apostle Ministry Team we develop and organize youth meetings, events and create other ways to engage youth in life of the parish.

Youth at St. John Vianney Church sure are sweet, bring treats and prayers to parishioners
CUMBERLAND —Veronica Plante, coordinator of Youth Ministry at St. John Vianney Church in Cumberland recently asked some friends from His Providence Church in Swansea, Mass., what their youth pastor was doing during the pandemic to reach the youth of their community. They mentioned that one initiatives was to drive by kids' houses and throw candy and treats at their doors — in “Ding Dong Ditch” fashion.
Sunday, September 6th, 6:30-8 pm: Youth Ministry (Grades 8-12)
Tuesday, September 8th, 6:30-8 pm: Jr. Youth Ministry (Grades 6 & 7)
Casual night of outdoor games, a discussion topic and prayer by the fire. Individual waters and treats will be served. On the lawn next to the church. All game equipment is cleaned before and during the evening, handwashing station and hand sanitizers available. Masks required if 6 ft. of distance cannot be maintained.

Monday, September 14th 7-8 pm Zoom Informational Meeting
Seeking Confirmed Teens (Grades 10-12) to be a part of the new Leadership Team. This Team will assist in Youth Ministry programming for grades 6-9. They will come together for fellowship and they will lead youth in games and talks, depending on their talents. Back from the Dead Walk

Practices: Sunday, September 13 & 27, October 4 & 11 from 6:30-7:30 pm.
This popular event is back and we need actors and guides from grades 8-12! No experience needed. Take a look at the afterlife in a unique dramatic presentation walking through the cemetery. All practices and presentations held outside, masks required if 6 ft. of distance cannot be maintained.
